President of India, Droupadi Murmu, who is on a two day visit to Tripura, on October 12 said that the North East Region will play a big role in boosting India’s economy in the near future.

“I believe Tripura and North East Region will play a crucial role in helping India to establish itself as a five trillion dollar economy within 2025,” the President said at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan where she inaugurated around seven projects virtually.

She further said that the aspirations, innovations and entrepreneurship of the youths of Tripura will play a crucial role in helping to boost India’s economy and that Tripura has a glorious future ahead.

During the event, President Murmu inaugurated a host of projects including the newly built sprawling MLA hostel, foundation stones were laid for projects like state’s first 15 storied administrative building, nine new girls hostels, new IIT campus and Digital Museum and cultural centre in the name of Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya at Agartala.

During the event Chief Minister Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty and others were present.
