GUWAHATI:
The fourth edition of the Vintage and Classic Automobile Rally was held in Guwahati on January 26.
The rally, which witnessed the confluence of a remarkable collection of over 40 vintage vehicles, was flagged off by Naresh Kumar Agarwal, DRSH, Guwahati DO, IOAOD SO.
The rally started from Srimanta Shankardeva Kalakshetra and halted at IOCL Chaganmal Sarawgi and Sons, Dispur for fueling and a short break.
Speaking of Indian Oil’s association with the rally as the lead energiser, Agarwal said, “While we have forayed into making fuel for the ultra-modern, Indian Oil identifies with the vintage cars and will continue to fuel every kind of vehicle on our roads. We are proud to be associated with vintage and classic automobile rally which showcases the very best of the vintage automobile.”
Exotic cars, bikes and other vehicles of different designs reminded of yesteryears.
Agarwal, along with other officers of Guwahati DO, felicitated and interacted with car owners post the rally.
The vintage and classic automobile rally is an annual event that takes place in Guwahati.
The major attractions of the event are an agglomeration of vintage and classic cars, followed by a drive through the city where cars are assessed for originality and performance on the road section, a display of period and fancy dressing by owners.
Owners of these vehicles look forward to the rally as it gives them a unique opportunity to showcase their prized possession.
