Vote for able leaders, not money: Sounder Cajee

He also asked voters to stay away from candidates who offer them money once in five years but to vote for those who will improve the welfare of farmers who depend on agriculture.

MAWKYRWAT:

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate from Mawkyrwat, Sounder S Cajee on January 27 said the people should elect able leaders while also urging them not to be swayed by money offered by candidates.

Speaking at a meeting held at Sakwang village in South West Khasi Hills district, Cajee urged the people to vote for candidates who will help them stand on their feet. He also asked voters to stay away from candidates who offer them money once in five years but to vote for those who will improve the welfare of farmers who depend on agriculture.

According to the TMC candidate, the public easily gets swayed during election time because of money offered, adding that they should vote for those who will bring in laws to ensure employment to the young people of the state.

While welcoming new members to the party, Cajee said people should give full support to candidates who will ensure the well being of their communities.

“Politics is not a bad thing, it is the people who make politics ugly,” he stated. “The choice of candidates should not be based on religion, community or clan, but on the principle of protecting the community,” he added.
