VPP campaigns for Umsning candidate

The Voice of the People’s Party (VPP) organised a general meeting for its Umsning candidate, Ricky J Syngkon at Iew Mawlong, Nongpoh on January 20.

The meeting was attended by VPP president, Ardent Basaiawmoit and other supporters of the party.

Speaking on his decision to contest, Umsning candidate Ricky Syngkon said, “I am a teacher and I love to serve the younger generation as a teacher. But with time the state is facing the crisis of unemployment, corruption. Farmers were also left behind. If the people of Umsning give me a chance then I can bring changes and transform this corrupt system.”

He added that the voice of the people will be heard in the Assembly but if there is no one to represent then their voices will not be heard.

Syngkon said that if we choose the wrong candidate then we will suffer again.

Meanwhile, VPP president, Ardent Basaiawmoit in his speech said “People in the border live in fear because of the encroachment from Assam, and people in the city live in fear because of the protest that the youths are demanding. They protest because this government failed in everything. All they can do is corruption”.

He stated that he lost the 2018 election because there were some political parties who misled the people and used money power.

Basaiawmoit further added that some political leaders are misleading the innocent people with central schemes just for a vote.“We should never compromise our vote with money or the enjoyment that a political party gives during election because we have to pay the price after elections,” he said.
