SHILLONG:
Opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislator from North Shillong Adelbert Nongrum on Wednesday lauded the decision of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to re-advertise the 35 posts of Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) in order to prospectively implement the roster system
Nongrum in a statement said that the old advertisement was cancelled after there has been inequality in the distribution of posts wherein 14 posts have been allotted to the Garo community and only 11 for the Khasi-Jaintia people.
He said he was happy to see the new advertisement which has equally allotted 14 posts for each.
He said he also expected the MPSC will also consider re-advertising the posts of LDA Secretariat, veterinary officer and junior divisional accountant and so on.
