SHILLONG:

National People’s Party (NPP) leader James Sangma, on December 8, ruled out allegations that all developmental projects are going to Garo Hills, stating that reports have to be substantiated by facts.

“That is not true at all. If you look at the amount of development that has taken place all across the state, I feel that it is equitable, and the pace of development has also picked up,” Sangma said.

He said Garo Hills was neglected in the past and it is only now that a slew of developmental activities are taking place there.

“When you see development taking place at a very fast pace in Garo Hills, people can misconstrue that as an imbalance, but that is not true,” he said.
