2023 Assembly polls: VPP releases names of 2 more candidates

As per a statement from VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh the two candidates are - Phailin Nongrum from Sohra and Bobby Kharshandi from Nongstoin.

SHILLONG:

The Voice of the People Party (VPP) on January 24 released the names of two more candidates who will be contesting the Assembly election in the state.

As per a statement from VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh the two candidates are – Phailin Nongrum from Sohra and Bobby Kharshandi from Nongstoin.

With the two new candidates the VPP now has 18 contenders who will be fighting the Assembly polls.

The 16 names released earlier are – party chief Ardent M Basawiamoit who will be contesting from Nongkrem, former North Shillong legislator Adelbert Nongrum, Damewanhi Rymbai (Khliehriat), Dr. Ricky A J Syngkon (Umsning), Heavingstone Kharpran (Mawryngkneng), Brightstarwell Marbaniang (Mawlai), Avner Pariat (East Shillong), Raja Jyrwa (West Shillong), Danny Langstieh (South Shillong), Aibandaplin F. Lyngdoh (Mylliem), Winston Tony Lyngdoh (Nongthymmai), Doristar Marbaniang (Mawphlang), Manbhalang Thabah (Pynursla), Shanlang Warjri (Mairang), Mayborn Lyngdoh (Pynthorumkhrah) and Overlin Imiong (Ranikor).

Meanwhile, the VPP received Rs 14,760 as donation during a meeting held at Pynursla on Monday.

Informing this in a statement, VPP spokesperson Dr Batskhem Myrboh said, “I would like to thank each one of you, who contributed financially to the party during its public meeting held at Pynursla on January 23, 2023. The total amount donated by our valued supporters was Rs 14,760.”

He said that the party invites each one of the voters of Meghalaya who have the concern for the future of the children and the state to join us in this difficult but possible struggle to transform the politics of Meghalaya.
