SHILLONG:

Indian National Congress (INC) leaders, on May 19, expressed contentment over the presentation given by the state government on the implementation of the roster system in the state.

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Ronnie V Lyngdoh said that the chief minister has clarified very clearly that no community will be discriminated and said that the roster system will be implemented prospectively.

“We are happy as INC because we are working the interest of our youth. It is clear now. Yes, you have to start somewhere and the court has made it very clear that it should be from the time the reservation policy was enacted but of course, the roster will be implemented prospectively but it has to have some basis. So, the young generation should not worry. The reservation policy will be followed in letter and spirit,” Lyngdoh said.
