SHILLONG:

Deputy chief minister in-charge of PWD Department Prestone Tynsong held a review meeting with the Planning, Finance, and PWD (Roads) departments on November 14 for improving the working system of PWD in the state, and come up with an Office Memorandum (OM) to address road issues in the state.

“Right now, we have not less than 10,000 kms of state roads, excluding the national highways. So, we discussed all these details, and the (OM) will categorise different types of roads in the state to improve on things,” Tynsong said.

He said that the meeting discussed categorising the roads in the state i.e, the major, minor, village, and commercial roads, so that repair and maintenance work can be taken up accordingly.
