HS Diengdoh

Retired Meghalaya bureaucrat HS Diengdoh on Monday joined the National People’s Party (NPP) and also announced that he will be contesting from the party in the 2023 assembly polls.

Diengdoh, while speaking at the function, said that he has worked as a government servant for 35 years and that he joined the NPP after giving it much thought. He was welcomed to the party fold by Mawshynrut and Nongstoin MLAs Gigur Myrthong and Macmillan Byrsat at Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills district.

Byrsat speaking at the function said that the latter is an old hand at handling administrative matters as a government official.

He said that by joining the NPP Diengdoh will transform Mawkyrwat constituency if he is elected as legislator.

The Nongstoin MLA said that if the party workers in Mawkyrwat work hard there is no doubt that NPP will win the 2023 assembly election.

On the other hand Mawshynrut MLA Myrthong said that Diengdoh is a helpful person. He also said that citizens should elect a person who loves his constituents.

Myrthong who is in charge of West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills districts said that the party are scouting for prospective candidates.
