MEGHALAYA:

The Garo Students’ Union (GSU) South Garo Hills zone has demanded the immediate removal of the Engineer and Project Manager of NSC company, tasked with the job of implementing the ongoing road project from Baghmara to Ranikor, alleging ‘substandard’ construction of the said road.

The specific area where the quality of the road is compromised is in Gaobar area between Dambuk and Rongara, the GSU said, adding that the stretch is around 5-10kms long.

The GSU secretary Sengrak T Sangma informed that they have come across videos and photos posted by villagers on social media of the alleged “dubious” work done by the company.

“The union inspected and found an absolutely below par work being done by the company,” Sangma said. IANS
