NONGSTOIN:
The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Lai Lyngdoh Circle, on November 15 met the executive engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) (Roads) Nongstoin, pertaining to the deplorable condition of the Mawkaton-Nongstoin Road and the damaged Mawkaton Bridge.
During the meeting, the HYC delegation, led by its general secretary Wilberthsoon Kharsyiemlieh highlighted the plight of commuters who travel on the road on a daily basis.
The HYC also raised the issue of the damaged Mawkaton Bridge which has been in a state of disrepair for an extended period making it dangerous for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Kharsyiemlieh informed that the executive engineer has assured the Council that his department will investigate the matter as soon as possible.
