The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) staged a silent protest in front of the office of the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) vice-chancellor on Thursday, expressing their displeasure that he had not called for a meeting of the academic council or a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the implementation of National Education Policy 2020.
In a statement issued here, the HYC education secretary, Enlang Sawian, said that the organisation was unhappy that the vice-chancellor has not invited the teachers who have expressed concern over the implementation of NEP syllabus for 2023.
The members of the HYC NEHU unit and the HYC education cell held placards outside the VC’s office.
The misunderstanding between the VC and the college teachers will likely land the students in difficult situations.
