SHILLONG:
Director General of Police (DGP) LR Bishnoi, on May 16, clarified that the reports on GNLA regrouping in the state are only inputs and they remain so until verified.
“We have written to the districts for verification, and once the verification report is received by us, then only we will be in the position to comment on it,” the DGP told media persons.
Stating that so many inputs keep coming in, Bishnoi said the authenticity of such reports are to be closely examined before the department comes to conclusion on such claims.
He further said that all the districts’ SPs are verifying these inputs in their respective areas, and once verification is complete, the police department will submit a report on it.
Asked on the timeline of getting such reports, the DGP informed, “We have not fixed any timeline, however, after proper investigation is done, we will likely receive the report in one week time.”
