KHNAM demands abolition of personal interviews for Group BCD posts

Vice president of the party, Thomas Passah during a press conference demanded that the concept of personal interviews for jobs under the BCD group should be completely abolished and the other is that the government should award state quotas in accordance to the merit list.

MEGHALAYA:

The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) on March 21 reminded the government of two issues the group has put forth before the Chief Minister of the state through a memorandum.

Vice president of the party, Thomas Passah during a press conference demanded that the concept of personal interviews for jobs under the BCD group should be completely abolished and the other is that the government should award state quotas in accordance to the merit list.

“From 2016, Government of India along with 23 states in the country have done away with personal interviews, why is our state not taking this seriously? Maybe, the reason is that the people who encourage back door entry are the same people who are in power now, because if personal interview is done away with, very sure the recruitment system will be on the fairer side, the youth of the state would benefit from this,” Passah said.

Further, he added that through various RTIs, it can be observed that students with higher percentages are frequently overlooked and seats are granted to those with lower percentages, which causes many of them to drop out of their course in the middle because it is too challenging.
