SHILLONG:

The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has informed that a Black Flag Day will be observed in the entire Khasi-Jaintia Hills on November 23.

In a statement issued on November 22, general secretary Donald Thabah said that the union will organise a series of agitations till the time that all the demands are fulfilled by the government.

The KSU held a CEC meeting on November 22 and has demanded the removal of Assam Police stations in Khasi border areas and demanded action against the Assam Police personnel who fired at the people, to compensate the victims.

The union stated that the state should set up police stations in every border area, especially in the disputed areas.

It added that the police outpost in Bararo/Mukroh should be set up which has been a long pending demand of the union and the people.

The KSU stated that the state government should send its police personnel to protect the people of Mukroh against Assam harassment.
