Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong

SHILLONG:

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, on April 25, hinted at a possible change in the political scenario in the state next week, “before the 6th, 7th or 8th of May.”

The political development that Tynsong was referring to will likely be the merging of the two MLAs of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) with the ruling National People’s Party (NPP).

In one of his election campaigns at Sohiong recently, Tynsong had publicly announced that there will be some political development before May 7 or 8 – a possible increase in NPP seats’ tally – from 26 to 28.

When asked about the NPP’s prospect in the upcoming election at Sohiong, the deputy chief minister said, “The prospect is good. It seems the fight will be between UDP and NPP; and even with Congress but we will work hard till May 10 and I am sure we will emerge victorious.”
