NONGPOH:

The concluding ceremony of Nepali Secondary School’s Golden Jubilee Celebration took place on December 8th at the Nongpoh District Library.

The ceremony, marked by the lowering of the school flag, witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Minister Rakkam A Sangma, Mayral Born Syiem, MLA, Manish Kumar ADC of Ri Bhoi District, CM Adhikari, senior advocate of Nongpoh District court, Madhav Singh, President of the Nepali SS Managing Committee, and Principal Rina Mary Hynniewta.

During the event, Minister Rakkam A Sangma commended the founders of Nepali Secondary School for their unwavering dedication in establishing an educational institution that has served the village for fifty years. He lauded the school’s staff for their commitment to fostering education and encouraged students to dedicate themselves to their studies, aspiring for excellence that reflects positively on the school’s legacy.

The day’s activities included the release of the school Souvenir, showcasing the institution’s journey over the past five decades. The celebration was further enriched by captivating performances of traditional songs and dances by the talented students, showcasing the cultural vibrancy embedded in the school community. The Golden Jubilee Closing Ceremony reached its pinnacle with the distribution of prizes to winners from various activities conducted throughout the celebratory period.
