KHIEHRIAT:
The deplorable condition of National Highway (NH)-06 at Khliehriat, the district headquarters of East Jaintia Hills, has caused inconvenience to vehicular movement and pedestrians alike.
Unfortunately, it is not the only neglected stretch, as the National Highway from Sunapur to Malidor is also in poor shape, with potholes scattered along the road.
The locals have raised concerns about these issues, and Santa Mary Shylla, the representative from Sutnga-Saipung Constituency, recently wrote to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, urging his intervention in the matter with the concerned authority – the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
