SHILLONG:
Complaints of proxy voting at Mizo Modern School polling station in Nongrim Hills on February 27 prompted district officials to replace the polling team.
“A new team of polling officials has arrived and voting is underway. We will not be able to provide further information at the moment,” a polling official told The Meghalayan.
Earlier, one voter could not exercise his right to vote as someone had already voted in his name.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, SC Sadhu, who is also the District Election Officer, rushed to the polling station to verify the incident.
