SHILLONG:
Ramakrishna Mission (RKM), on Saturday, conducted the prize distribution ceremony of the 49th Annual Cultural Competition, at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road, Shillong.
During the ceremony, 246 winners from various competition categories from nursery to college levels were awarded prizes, certificates, and various accolades. Two new websites, namely https://www.rkmshillong.org/ and https://vcc.rkmshillong.org/ were also inaugurated at the event to provide valuable information and updates about the mission and Vivekananda cultural centre’s activities.
The chief guest at the occasion was Rosetta Mary Kurbah, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills; while Dr Sabita Sen, Principal of Shillong Commerce College was the guest of honour.
Kurbah congratulated the prize winners and appreciated the efforts put in by the Ramakrishna Mission in organising the competition, further urging parents to take care of the health of their children especially until five years of age.
Sen also encouraged prize winners, especially from the secondary schools to hone their skills, and thanked Ramakrishna Mission for the services offered to the society.
Earlier, Swami Divyaswarupananda Maharaj, the Assistant Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, welcomed everyone to the event and Vairagya Chaitanya Maharaj proposed the Vote of Thanks.
The 49th Annual Cultural Competition was a celebration of talent, creativity, and unity.
