NONGPOH:
The District Transport Office (DTO), Ri Bhoi District, in cooperation with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, and the PWD Road, organised a programme to raise awareness on road safety at the DTO Nongpoh on March 31.
The schedule for Road Safety Week ran from March 27 to March 31. The Office of the DTO, Nongpoh and the Ri Bhoi Police organised a number of events in various locations to raise awareness of the rules for preventing accidents among the general public and drivers, which continue to occur occasionally and claim many lives, especially on the National Highway.
Various officers including DSR Lakiang, Traffic in Charge of Nongpoh Police Station, Dr.N Kharnaior, Civil Hospital Nongpoh, D Shylla SDO PWD Nongpoh, VR Ryngkhlem DTO Nongpoh, Dawa T Warjri and the Association of Taxi and Sumo Drivers, the drivers, the Association of Taxi and Sumo Drivers, and the Nongpo Police Department participated in the programme.
