Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at GB Pant hospital on Sunday

AGARTALA:

A day after clashes between Congress and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) members in Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, on February 27, gave a stern warning saying that he will not spare anybody found involved in violence.

The CM visited the police personnel admitted at GB Pant hospital who were reportedly injured in the clash, after being allegedly attacked by Congress workers during a BJP rally held on February 26.

Speaking to reporters, Deb said that conspiratorial attempts to disrupt law and order in the state and hooliganism in the holy land of Tripura will not be tolerated at any cost.

β€œIn a pre-planned manner, notorious miscreants and anti-socials in the state who are backed by Indian National Congress (INC) carried out attacks by pelting stones, bricks, explosives, petrol bombs on police and civilians. Congress has hired persons who are accused in murder cases, smugglers and other goons to carry out such unprovoked attacks,” said Deb.

Deb said that INC workers are instating violence in the state, and disrupting the social fabric, which the ruling government has maintained.

It may be mentioned that a police personnel Srimanta Bhil was seriously injured in the violence.
