SHILLONG:
The Voice of the People Party (VPP) inducted Adelbert Nongrum and Mayborn Lyngdoh into the party fold in presence of VPP president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit during a general meeting at Polo, Shillong, on January 16.
While Nongrum will be contesting the upcoming polls from the North Shillong constituency, Lyngdoh will be going up against BJP heavyweight AL Hek in Pynthorumkhrah.
During the meeting, the VPP also declared the second list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly Elections. So far, the party has declared the names of 16 candidates and the party will announce the third list very soon.
