AMPATI:
To mark the occasion of International Women’s Day, District Sports Office, Ampati, in collaboration with District Administration of South West Garo Hills, organised a tug of war competition for district’s women of all ages at Students Field Ampati on March 13.
Out of 16 teams from across the district who passionately participated in the competition, womenfolk of Adugre village displayed their physical resilience with precise team coordination and emerged as champions, while womenfolk of Hathisil village bagged the prize for runners-up.
The Superintendent of Police of South West Garo Hills, V Kumar, who attended the event as the Chief Guest congratulated the participants for showing the true strength of women through such competitions. Later, Kumar also distributed prizes to winners and runners up of the event in the presence of S Marak, District Sports Officer of Ampati.
