AICC constitutes 10-member coordination, 7-member manifesto committees of MPCC

Congress president Sonia Gandhi also approved appointments of vice presidents, office bearers of the State Kisan Congress Department, Social Media Department and State Fishermen Congress Department, among others.

New Delhi:

In view of the 2023 Assembly election in Meghalaya, the All India Congress Committee (AICC), on February 17, has constituted a 10-member coordination and seven-member manifesto committee of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).

Announcing the same, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said that the committees have been constituted post Congress president Sonia Gandhi approved the proposal.

To be chaired by Congress in-charge of Meghalaya, Manish Chatrath, the 10-member coordination committee will have MPCC president Vincent Pala, Deborah C Marak, PN Syiem, AT Mondal, Sajay Das, Ronnie V Lyngdoh, HDR Lyngdoh, Andrew Shullai, Holando Lamin as its members.

Presidents of Meghalaya Youth Congress, Mahila Congress and State NSUI are the special invitees in the coordination committee, Venugopal said.

He further informed that Celestine Lyngdoh has been appointed as the chairman of the manifesto committee along with six other members.

Gandhi has also approved the appointments of vice presidents, office bearers of the State Kisan Congress Department, Social Media Department, State Fishermen Congress Department, and presidents of District Congress Committee of the MPCC.

The party’s high command appointed RV Lyngdoh, K Lyngkhoi, Augustine D Marak, Piwel Shylla and Boldness N Longum as the five vice presidents in the MPCC. Charles Marngar has been appointed as the chairman of the State Kisan Congress Department along with eight new members. Appointment of three members for the Social Media Department with Manuel Badwar as its chairman, two members in the State Fishermen Congress Department and 13 District Congress Committee presidents, too were announced.
