City organisation uplifts children’s spirit at Mawwan school

The day began with students, teachers and the members of Punjabi Sabha singing the National Anthem. A plethora of games and fun activities like frog race, racing, along with dancing and singing competitions were organised. Prizes were also presented to all the winners.

City-based organisation Punjabi Sabha has organised the Children’s Day at Seng Khasi Lower Primary School in Mawwan village, Mylliem one day ahead.

The organisation, in lieu of Children’s Day visited the students and teachers of the school to do their bit in order to make the event a memorable one for the students.

The day began with students, teachers and the members of Punjabi Sabha singing the National Anthem. A plethora of games and fun activities like frog race, racing, along with dancing and singing competitions were organised. Prizes were also presented to all the winners.

Furthermore, packages comprising of food and fruits, toys, games were also distributed.

Speaking at the programme, president of the organisation, Kamla Verma encouraged the students to work hard and study well.

Over the years, members of Punjabi Sabha have built a bond with the students and faculty members of Seng Khasi Lower Primary School.

This year, the organisation donated sufficient aid so that the school authorities can build stairs in the school premises as well as toilets for the children.

Punjabi Sabha had taken the initiative to provide all the support for better functioning of the school and to ensure education is available to the children of Mawwan village.

The organisation has also been celebrating Independence Day with the kids every year.
