Machine sector experts from across the country showcased their expertise and products to the local entrepreneurs from the state as Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma inaugurated the North East Entrepreneurship Machinery & Innovation Exhibition (NEEMIE) at Polo, Shillong, on September 20.
Speaking on the sidelines of the exhibition, Sangma said that NEEMIE will facilitate machinery and technology support to be within the reach of state’s entrepreneurs and help them further boost their businesses.
The Chief Minister, who through the government’s PRIME programme encourages youths to take up entrepreneurship in the state, said that the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Meghalaya is expanding exponentially and with it, machinery and technical support pose a challenge for the entrepreneurs.
“Our entrepreneurship program ‘PRIME’ continues to shape the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Meghalaya by not only supporting our entrepreneurs but addressing such gaps,” Sangma said.
