Conjunctivitis common during monsoon, should not be perceived as threat: Ampareen

Perceiving the disease as a common phenomenon during the monsoon, Lyngdoh stated that all health centres have been issued necessary instructions, and sufficient medical supplies have been provided at these centres.

SHILLONG:

Days after the state reported several cases on Conjunctivitis, Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh informed that the pink eye disease is a very common disease during the monsoon season across the country, and people must not panic.

“Advisors have already been given to the public as the disease is contagious. Few protective measures have to be taken such as wearing glasses, washing hands, and maintaining hygiene,” Lyngdoh told media persons.

Stating that the disease is not a big concern for the state, she asserted that as schools are having their internal exams, they have been asked to make necessary arrangements for children with Conjunctivitis or pink eye disease.

Perceiving the disease as a common phenomenon during the monsoon, Lyngdoh stated that all health centres have been issued necessary instructions, and sufficient medical supplies have been provided at these centres.
