The Assamese Sankardev vidyapith school, located in Bishnupur, Shillong, has undergone a significant transformation through the Civic Action Programme of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The school building, in a state of disrepair due to its age, received a comprehensive renovation, ensuring a conducive environment for learning.
The inauguration ceremony took place on January 11, marking the successful completion of the renovation project undertaken by the CRPF’s 67 Battalion as part of its annual civic action program. The initiative aimed to address the structural issues of the aged school building, ensuring that students can pursue their studies without hindrance.
The renovation project was initiated in response to a request made by the school’s principal, highlighting the urgent need for repairs to various sections of the building. The CRPF’s 67 Battalion, committed to its annual civil service program, took on the responsibility of refurbishing the school, thereby contributing to the enhancement of educational facilities for the students.
The ceremony, held within the school premises, saw the presence of CRPF’s 67 Battalion Deputy Commandant, Sanjeev Kumar, and Second in Command, Ajay Kumar. Their active involvement in the renovation project and participation in the inauguration underscored the collaborative efforts between the CRPF and the local community to uplift educational infrastructure.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the school, the CRPF was acknowledged for its valuable contribution to the improvement of the educational environment. The event showcased the positive impact of civic action programs, emphasising the CRPF’s commitment to community development.
