The East Jaintia Hills Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) arrested one Lalhmunsanga Beingaichho of Aizawl, Mizoram on September 3 and seized 10 black packets weighing 10.6 kilograms of crystal meth from him.
The SP of East Jaintia Hills, Jagpal Singh Dhonao, verified that the contraband is crystal meth (pure amphetamine). He claimed that Lalhmunsanga is a drug dealer who left Silchar in a Tata Sumo and was making his way to Khliehriat. Around 4:30 p.m., he was stopped at the Kongong checkpoint, and during a search of the car, illegal goods were discovered in a suitcase that he was carrying.
This swift arrest by the ANTF team resulted in the filing of a complaint under the NDPS Act at the Khliehriat PS, where a probe is ongoing to identify any backward and forward connections.
