A 23-year-old Meghalayan girl died in a road accident at Rajasthan’s Mewar on February 10.
The girl, Herdalin Thabah, was returning in an auto rickshaw from a Covid vaccination centre when a speeding pick-up truck came from behind and rammed into the three-wheeler before capsizing.
She was accompanied by her friend, 20-year-old Senzitha S Marak from Baghmara Jongkol in South Garo Hills. Marak sustained head injuries.
Following the accident, both victims were rushed to the nearest hospital where Thabah succumbed to her injuries. A police FIR has been lodged against truck driver, who reportedly fled the scene.
While Thabah was a 4th year BBA LLB student of Mewar University, Senzitha is studying Bachelor in Physiotherapy from the same university.
