East Khasi Hills girl dies in road accident in Rajasthan’s Mewar

TURA:

A 23-year-old Meghalayan girl died in a road accident at Rajasthan’s Mewar on February 10.

The girl, Herdalin Thabah, was returning in an auto rickshaw from a Covid vaccination centre when a speeding pick-up truck came from behind and rammed into the three-wheeler before capsizing.

She was accompanied by her friend, 20-year-old Senzitha S Marak from Baghmara Jongkol in South Garo Hills. Marak sustained head injuries.

Following the accident, both victims were rushed to the nearest hospital where Thabah succumbed to her injuries. A police FIR has been lodged against truck driver, who reportedly fled the scene.

While Thabah was a 4th year BBA LLB student of Mewar University, Senzitha is studying Bachelor in Physiotherapy from the same university.

Shocked students from Mewar University informed The Meghalayan that the mortal remains of their classmate have been sent by flight to Guwahati for the last journey to Shillong on Thursday night.
