A field day programme on Scheme under NEH Component was held on Thursday at Allagre village in West Garo Hills where 25 rapeseed farmers attended the programme.
Prof. Jyoti V Vastrad, Dean of Community Science, Tura (CAU, Imphal) graced the occasion as chief guest and encouraged the farmers to follow scientific cultivation technologies which are being imparted by the institute.
Dr Athokam Haribhushan, KVK South Garo Hills principal scientist, who was the chairperson of the programme ensured full support from his office to the farmers in terms of implementing different schemes under ICAR NEH fund and other funds from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Later, the farmers received critical inputs for increasing the productivity of rapeseed like beebox, knapsack sprayer and pro harvest seed storage.
