 SHILLONG:

The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) Riwar Mihngi circle has urged the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) to release a proper notification regarding the schedule of load-shedding in the Pynursla area.

In a letter to the Executive Engineer, East Khasi Hills Distribution Division, the FKJGP circle president Evanfield Khonglam said that the timing for load-shedding in their area is unknown to the residents, especially the timing for reloading the power supply, adding that load-shedding is extended for over an hour almost daily.

Informing that the same has affected the consumers, mainly those dependent on electrical appliances, and those involved in steel fabrication, computer services and also the students in general, the pressure group requested the MeECL to take immediate action regarding cutting off power supply in some villages namely Siatbakon, Pongtung, Pyrnai, among others.
