Former Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police (SP) Late Spill Thamar

Former Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police (SP) Spill Thamar passed away on June 1 morning around 4 am due to sudden illness, family sources informed.

Thamar was recently transferred as Chief Security Officer of the MePDCL. He had served as the SP of Ri Bhoi in 2018, SP of Fire & emergency Services and SP (City) of East Khasi Hills.

Sources informed that he was shifted to Bethany Hospital on May 31 after complaining of severe headache and blood pressure. His mortal remains will likely be taken to Nangbah village of West Jaintia Hills on June 2 for the last rites.

The former Ri Bhoi SP is survived by his wife and four children.

In its condolence message, Meghalaya Police wrote, “We are deeply saddened at the sudden demise of Shri S Thamar. Our condolences are with the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues during this time of grief. Thamar was an impeccable officer of the police fraternity, who served the community with honour, valour and distinction. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.”
