Foundation stone laid for rural haat at Namdong village

The market, set to cover an expansive 3,000 square metres, will be situated in Namdong B village, donated by the dorbar Shnong. The estimated construction cost for this transformative project is ₹16,66,000.00.

JOWAI:

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Jaiñtia Hills Development Society (JHDS) on January 12, laid the foundation stone for Namdong village market, also known as Namdong Haat.

The inauguration took place in West Jaiñtia Hills, with Heimonmi Niang, Block Development Officer of Namdong C&RD Block, as the chief guest and Grevile Kharlukhi, Assistant General Manager at NABARD as the guest of honour.

The event also saw the presence of key figures such as Fr. Manbha Pakem, Director of JHDS, Denis Kurkalang, JHDS Coordinator, and Damian S. War, the headman, among others.
