SHILLONG:
The Meghalaya and Greater Shillong Progressive Hawkers and Street Vendors Association (MGSPHSVA) organised a cleaning drive in areas where they are involved in selling their wares, in the city, on May 9.
The members of the association along with hawkers from all over the state took part in the drive wholeheartedly and pledged to make the city and the state clean, beautiful, and safe.
The association also said that it is also contemplating ways and means to replace the use of plastic in order to preserve nature.
After the drive, the association thanked all the hawkers and members for taking part in the cleaning drive, and expressed gratitude to the Shillong Municipality and Fire Department for helping them carryout the drive.
