In order to prevent the transmission of contagious diseases, especially airborne diseases, the District Administration, West Garo Hills Tura has issued an advisory for the general public regarding Do’s and Don’ts when seeking medical care in hospitals. These measures are intended to promote a safe and efficient healthcare environment for everyone.
The advisory stated that it is mandatory to wear a mask properly, covering the nose, mouth, and chin when entering hospitals, and avoid touching or adjusting your mask while on the hospital premises. Masks help prevent the spread of respiratory droplets and protect both yourself and others from potential infection.
As per the advisory, Practising Hand Hygiene by washing your hand with soap or hand wash and water for at least 20 minutes before and after visiting a hospital and in case if soap and water are not available, then use hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol content is recommended.
Moreover, adhering to physical distancing guidelines by maintaining a distance of at least 1 meter (3 feet) from others, including fellow visitors, patients, and hospital staff is necessary as well as avoiding unnecessary physical contact, such as handshakes or hugs, with individuals outside your immediate household.
Further, the advisory urges everyone to follow the specific guidelines and instructions provided by the hospital which may include restrictions on visiting hours, visitor limitations, screening procedures, and other precautionary measures. Moreover, they have to respect and cooperate with hospital staff as they work diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals within the healthcare facility.
