Holistic Child Development Program launched in Meghalaya

Directorate of School Education and Literacy, SSA-SEMAM, Government of Meghalaya and Learning Links Foundation launched Holistic Child development program under the Meghalaya Govt.’s special initiative “Adopt a School Program” with support from Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd.

Learning Links Foundation, a leading non-profit organization that creates sustainable and scalable models for enhancing learning outcomes, especially in underserved communities, is excited to announce the launch of the Holistic Child Development Program supported by Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), SSA-SEMAM, Government of Meghalaya as a part of the “Adopt a School” Program. This program adopts a comprehensive approach that focuses on nurturing the holistic development of a child. It will be implemented in 10 government schools of the Mawlai Block of East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, and will benefit 1000 students studying in Grades I-V.

Designed to go beyond conventional education, the Holistic Child Development Program aims at improving learning outcomes but also places emphasis on enhancing various aspects of a child’s life including health, wellness, physical development through sports, and an appreciation of art. By addressing these facets, the program seeks to create a nurturing environment that fosters overall growth and well-being.

Key features of the Holistic Child Development Program include:

1.Learning Enhancement: Use of innovative teaching methodologies to improve academic performance and instil a passion for learning among children.

2.Health and Wellness: Providing regular health check-ups, nutrition support, and wellness initiatives to ensure the physical well-being of children.

3.Structured Sports curriculum through Khelo India: Delivering a structured sports curriculum to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership skills.

4.Art Education: Introducing children to various forms of art activities that stimulate creativity, self-expression, and build a strong sense of cultural identity.

Learning Links Foundation is proud to partner with the Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), SSA-SEMAM Government of Meghalaya, for this impactful initiative. The intent of this noteworthy collaboration is to extend its reach to additional districts within the state and ensure sustainable impact.
