JOWAI:
The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC) has issued a statement, dismissing accusations against its Finance Secretary, Training Phawa, in relation to the incident at Tuber Kmai Shnong Village on January 3rd. The Headman, Micky Lyngdoh, had claimed an attempted attack by Phawa.
“We have thoroughly investigated the matter and found all allegations to be false, baseless, and exaggerated,” stated Wanshwa Suting, the JNC General Secretary.
The JNC clarified that Phawa’s family members were the ones assaulted, prompting his intervention. The village organized a march condemning the attack on the headman, but the JNC alleged the rally was unauthorized, calling for a focus on democracy.
In response, the JNC urged the Headman to prioritize peace and harmony, cautioning against the misuse of power. The matter is now in court, with the JNC expressing confidence in the truth emerging during legal proceedings.
