Jowai girl tops Assam Don Bosco University MBA, bags prestigious gold medal

This achievement marks the first time a girl from Meghalaya has emerged as the topper in the MBA program at Assam Don Bosco University.

SHILLONG:

Dorothy Roy Tariang, hailing from Jowai, secured the top spot in the Assam Don Bosco University’s MBA program with an exceptional CGPA of 9.29 out of 10.0. In recognition of her outstanding performance, she was honored with the prestigious Gold Medal on September 23.

Dorothy, daughter of Dr. Iwbih Nylla Tariang, a Senior Veterinary Officer, and journalist Dr. Anirban Roy, who specialised in Human Resource Management during her MBA. This achievement marks the first time a girl from Meghalaya has emerged as the topper in the MBA program at Assam Don Bosco University.

The Gold Medal was bestowed upon Dorothy Roy Tariang during the 12th Convocation of Assam Don Bosco University, which took place at the Tapesia campus near Guwahati on Saturday.

Expressing her success, Dorothy emphasised her desire to contribute to the development of the people of Meghalaya.

Before pursuing her MBA at Assam Don Bosco University, Dorothy completed her graduation in English Literature from Amity University.

Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, also the Visitor of Assam Don Bosco University, graced the occasion and felicitated the toppers. He encouraged the graduating students to join the workforce that brings meaningful changes to the lives of people in India through innovative ideas and dedication.

Fr. Januarius Sangma, the Chancellor of Assam Don Bosco University, addressed the graduates, highlighting the vast opportunities that lay ahead of them to make a lasting impact on the world.

During the convocation, Vice Chancellor Fr. (Dr) Jose Palely extended his congratulations to the graduates and expressed hope that they would embrace change and adapt tenaciously to evolving times as they step out into the world.

Gold Medals were presented to 36 outstanding graduates, each achieving the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in their respective programs, spanning various categories.
