SHILLONG:
A resident of Laitmawsiang village, Lathom Khongsit, on October 31 expressed dissatisfaction with the reply provided by the Block Development Officer (BDO) on the construction of a road at the village.
Addressing a press conference, he informed that he filed three RTIs (Right to Information) seeking information on the Rs 59,04,000 road project for 1.80 km implemented by Khatar-shnong Laitkroh C & RD Block.
In all the three RTIs, he said that the BDO cum Public Information Officer (PIO) did not provide him a satisfactory answer when he wanted to find out how the fund, pertaining to the plastic cell road project under the Meghalaya Livelihood Access to Market project (MEGHA LAMP) at Laitmawsiang village, East Khasi Hills district, was utilised.
“I want to know how it was utilised, be it in labour, cost of materials, etc.,” he said.
When asked, Khongsit said that he will file another RTI till he gets the desired reply.
