GUWAHATI:
General Officer Commanding–in–Chief (GOC-in-C) of Eastern Army Command, Lieutenant General Rana Kalita visited Sikkim to take stock of the prevailing situation along the international borders.
During his interaction with the troops, the Army Commander complimented the soldiers for their professionalism, dedication and commitment for maintaining round the clock vigil in inhospitable terrain and adverse climatic conditions.

Earlier on May 5, Kalita had arrived at Sukna, Siliguri on a three-day visit to the Trishakti Corps.
The Army Commander was briefed by Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Trishakti Corps on the prevailing situation and operational preparedness of the formations.
