Martyrs Day run organised by Meghalaya police in Tura

The event was well received by the youths of Garo Hills with many hailing from neighboring places coming to participate in the event. 

TURA:
A run in honour of the brave men who gave their lives in the line of duty was organised this morning at 6.00 am by the 2nd Meghalaya Police Battalion stationed at Goeragre, 12 kms from Tura. The memorial event is observed every year.
The event was well received by the youths of Garo Hills with many hailing from neighboring places coming to participate in the event.
Meghalaya police DIG of Western Range, Subba C.V.S Reddy (IPS) graced the occasion  in the presence of the Commandant of 2nd MLP Bn Beuno A .Sangma (MPS), senior officers and police personnel of all ranks.
The winners were given a trophy and certificate along with cash prizes.
Winners of the marathon race were well known Garo Hills sportsmen for long distance running Batsrang A Sangma in first position, followed by Matsrang A Sangma in second and
Witnar A Sangma in third position.
Consolations prizes were also given to  girl/woman runners who completed the race. They were Tulsi Momin in 4th and Rikmatchi Momin in 5th position.
Apart from that, soulful display of band was also carried out in main locations of Tura town like supermarket Dobasipara, P.A Sangma memorial football stadium, Chandmary stadium and other places.
