Meghalaya boy to join Indian Army as Lieutenant

Nigel Hopkins P Marak was also conferred with a B.Sc degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Nigel Hopkins P Marak, a resident of Meghalaya, successfully completed the 145th course from the National Defence Academy (NDA) on November 30, 2023, in a parade characterized by military grandeur who is set to be commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army in December 2024.

The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, graced the Passing Out Parade as the chief guest and reviewing officer. The parade served as the culmination of a rigorous three-year training program at NDA Khadakvasla.

In recognition of his academic achievements, Nigel Hopkins P Marak was also conferred with a B.Sc degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). This follows a year-long training schedule at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.
