With less than a week left for the opening of Meghalaya Games 2024, the players from across the State have started arriving in Tura, West Garo Hills on January 9.
As preparations continue on a war-footing before the grand opening ceremony on January 15 next, football teams from different districts of the state began arriving as football matches are set to begin on Thursday at Chandmary playground, Tura.
By Tuesday only men’s football players had arrived, while women players are expected to reach on Wednesday morning.
Upon their arrival at ISBT, Tura for registration, the players were each given a warm reception with a traditional Garo stole and from ISBT the players were transported to their designated places of accommodation.
The Games are scheduled to take place from January 15 to 20, next, which will be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu.
