Meghalaya reports 3 active COVID cases, positivity rate at 2.40 %

As per the data from the health department, two active cases have been reported from East Khasi Hills district and one from South West Khasi Hills. The other districts have zero cases as of now.

SHILLONG:

Amidst the sudden spike in COVID cases in the country, the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya has informed that the state currently has three active COVID cases with a positivity rate of 2.40 per cent.

As per the data from the health department, two active cases have been reported from East Khasi Hills district and one from South West Khasi Hills. The other districts have zero cases as of now.

Giving COVID-19 weekly update, the department said that four cases were detected in the last seven days, and three of them recovered.

The department further said that a total of 167 tests were conducted in the last seven days, of which 70 were conducted in East Khasi Hills, six in Ri Bhoi, two in South West Khasi Hills, and 89 in West Garo Hills districts.

As for the district-wise break-up of positivity rate in the last seven days, the data showed that South West Khasi Hills, with two tests and one positive case, recorded a positivity rate of 50 per cent, and East Khasi Hills, with 70 tests and three positive cases, recorded a positivity rate of 4.29 per cent.
