Panaliar Dorbar issues slew of restrictions for candidates ahead of polls

Entry to the venue has been narrowed down to ten persons, including the candidate, speeches are limited to one speaker, and only two vehicles are allowed.

SHILLONG:

The Dorbar Shnong of Panaliar has issued a slew of restrictions for candidates of Jowai Constituency, who are planning to hold election campaigns in the village ahead of the February 27 assembly polls.

This was informed by the Waheh Chnong of Panaliar Dorbar Shnong, Requoma Laloo.

All candidates are prohibited from hanging flags within the jurisdiction of the Dorbar Shnong during election campaigns.

Music has been confined, distribution of money has been ceased, and entry of non-residents to Panaliar has been limited.

Entry to the venue has been narrowed down to ten persons, including the candidate, speeches are limited to one speaker, and only two vehicles are allowed.

The restrictions were imposed at the meeting of the Dorbar Shnong held recently. Badges will also be issued.
