Mukhi visits KV Digaru, urges instillation of patriotic feelings among students

Terming the students as the agents of positive change, the Governor said that he was happy to be flanked by the students and expressed his happiness to be amidst them.

GUWAHATI:

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi said that educational institutions must play the role of a catalyst by instilling patriotic feelings among the students.

Mukhi was interacting with the school fraternity of Kendriya Vidyalaya Air Force Station (AFS), Digaru, on July 22, wherein he said that students are the harbinger of peace and development, therefore helping them to imbibe patriotic feelings would enable them to work for national development which would benefit entire citizenry of the country.

Mukhi also said that since the nation is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as part of 75th year of Indian independence, the schools should organise programmes to instil nationalistic feelings among the students. He urged the students to celebrate ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and hoist the National Flag in their respective homes to mark the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

Terming the students as the agents of positive change, the Governor said that he was happy to be flanked by the students and expressed his happiness to be amidst them.

“We all should be proud of being born as Indians. It has a civilization that is more than 5000 years old and has been looked upon by the world as a land of wealth and wisdom. It should be the responsibility of the students to work towards rediscovering the inner vitality of India and establish it as a viswaguru,” he said.

He further said that every Indian has immense responsibility towards the nation and urged the teachers to inspire the students to realize their dream conforming with the national interest.

Urging the students to be goal-oriented, he asked them to fix their target and be focused and keep on working towards the goal until it is achieved.

The Governor held meetings with the principal, managing committee and teachers of the school and took stock of the overall state of affairs in the school.

Chairman of Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS, Digaru, Group Captain SD Nigam, Deputy Commissioner KVS, Guwahati region Varun Mitra, Principal KV AFS, Digaru, N Majhi, Principal KV Khanapara, Dr Sanjay Kumar, along with the teachers, staff and students were present during the Governor’s visit to the school.
