The United Democratic Party District Election Committee of West Jaintia Hills has submitted the applications of three candidates from three constituencies who will likely contest the 2023 general elections to the general secretary of the UDP central body Jemino Mawthoh.
Prominent names were figured in the lists including Dawan Lyngdoh, the current MDC of Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC). He will contest from Nartiang constituency.
The UDP Jowai circle has submitted the name of Moonlight Pariat who is also the president of UDP West Jaintia Hills. The other candidate is Nujorki Sungoh from Mookaiaw.
The District Election Committee West Jaintia Hills has urged the district election committee to approve the names of the candidates.
Meanwhile, the UDP West Khasi Hills said that the remaining two constituencies of Raliang and Amlarem will be announced after the decision of the respective circles.
